Fun Fridays

Bringing Creativity, Connection & Play to Recess

Fun Fridays is a 100% parent-led HSC program designed to give Blossom Hill students more opportunities to connect, create, and simply have fun during recess.

Twice a month, parent volunteers set up a variety of open-ended activities for students to enjoy, including board games, building and stacking activities, beads, pipe cleaners, crafts, toys, coloring pages, and more. The goal is to create a welcoming environment that encourages kindness, creativity, connection, cooperative play, and responsibility through helping clean up when the fun is over.

Families are also encouraged to share activities that celebrate their cultural heritage or traditions. If you have a favorite game, craft, coloring activity, display, or other hands-on experience connected to your culture or a holiday, we would love for you to bring it and share it with the Blossom Hill community.

Fun Fridays are typically offered twice each month, excluding minimum days, school breaks, and other schedule conflicts.

Volunteer for Fun Fridays

Fun Fridays can only happen with the support of our parent and caregiver volunteers. At least two volunteers are needed for each session to help set up activities, engage with students, encourage positive play, and assist with cleanup afterward.

No previous experience is necessary. Training and guidance are provided by experienced parent volunteers who have participated in the program in prior years, so you will have everything you need to jump in and help.

Whether you can join us for one Friday or several throughout the school year, every bit of help makes a difference. Come experience Fun Fridays, spend some time with our students, and help create a fun and welcoming recess experience.
