Where Creativity Takes Shape
Hands-on pottery for every Blossom Hill student.
Our Blossom Hill Pottery Program is powered by our amazing parent community! The program is entirely volunteer-supported, and we count on parents and caregivers to help make these hands-on experiences possible for our students. No artistic talent or previous pottery experience is required! Our Pottery Leads will provide the guidance, project instructions, and support you need to feel comfortable helping in the classroom.
Volunteer: Become a Pottery Parent
To give every Blossom Hill student the opportunity to explore and enjoy pottery, our program works together through three simple volunteer roles:
- The School-Wide Pottery Team: This team helps oversee the program across Blossom Hill. They organize and maintain pottery supplies, coordinate materials and glazes, oversee kiln use and maintenance, and provide project ideas, resources, and support to our classroom leads.
- Classroom Pottery Leads: Each classroom will have a designated Pottery Lead who works closely with the teacher. The Lead helps coordinate pottery days, chooses the project for the class, and works with the teacher to make sure everything is ready for the students.
- Day-Of Classroom Volunteers: You don’t have to be a Pottery Lead—or have any pottery experience—to lend a hand! When your child’s class has a pottery session, parents and caregivers are welcome to volunteer. Volunteers help distribute supplies, assist students with basic techniques like rolling, shaping, and scoring their pottery, and help clean up the tables and workspace when the class is finished.
Whether you can commit to helping throughout the year or can only join us for your child’s pottery day, every volunteer makes a difference!
