We are a few weeks into the school year, and things are settling into a routine, so we are sending an official welcome from this year's room parent team. We have quite a bit of information for you below, so please be sure to read it completely and let us know if you have any questions.
If you would like a different email or an additional email added to the distribution list (i.e., spouse's email etc.), please let us know.
ROOM PARENTS: Our main responsibilities as Room Parents include: - Forwarding important information/reminders to the class from the Home and School Club - Planning class celebrations - Coordinating/purchasing gifts for the teacher throughout the year (birthday gift, holiday gift, teacher appreciation gift and end-of-year gift) - Coordination of class volunteers for various school and class events including The Harvest Festival, The Swarm, grade-specific events, field trips, etc. - Creation of a Class Scarecrow to be raffled off at The Harvest Festival Fall Fundraiser which takes place on Sunday, Oct. 27th.
CLASS FUND: We are asking each family for a suggested donation of $25-$40 for our class fund. The money collected for this fund will go towards the purchase of class gifts for the teacher as noted above and for class celebrations throughout the year. You can drop off your donation in the ROOM PARENT ENVELOPE just inside the classroom door or send it in with your child. Payment can be made by PayPal, cash or check, payable to your class treasurer, is fine. Cash donations should be put in an envelope labeled with your child’s name. Donations in any amount are appreciated, and all families’ names will be included on every class gift.
CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS: If you would like to volunteer for your classroom team, please let your room parent know!
HARVEST FESTIVAL: Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 27th from 12-3pm for the Home and School Club’s fall fundraiser, The Harvest Festival! While this is a fun-filled, carnival-like event for the whole family to enjoy, it also requires the generosity and support of our parent community to be a success. Accordingly, each class will be asked to do the following: - Create and decorate a Class Scarecrow for the Raffle (if you’d like to help out with our Class Scarecrow, please let us know!) - Staff approximately 6-7 shifts at the festival - Provide 2 desserts for the Dessert Booth - Provide 4 cakes for the Cake Walk. Please access the the online signup sheet here: HF 2019 Sign-Up Genius. The first class to fill their volunteer slots will win a popcorn party!
Please look for more emails to come regarding this beloved Blossom Hill event.
ONE CHECK FUNDRAISER: The Home and School Club’s largest fundraiser, ONE CHECK, is taking place right now. Please complete your One Check contribution as soon as possible. Blossom Hill School does not ask families to purchase back-to-school supplies. We simply request that you donate funds to cover these supplies via the ONE CHECK program. The $150 supply fund is the minimum ask which goes directly to the school supplies that your child is using in the classroom, to technology in the classrooms, and to so much more. Payment plans are available for those who wish to use that option. We simply request that you donate funds to cover these supplies via the ONE CHECK program. Please visit hsc.blossomhill.org and click on the ONE CHECK icon (on the left side of the home page) to contribute.
